Saling walks slowly away from the municipal hall, tears falling down her cheeks. She looks back one last time at her father behind the iron bars. Tata Selo weakly tells her to go home and forget what happened. The young boy stands nearby, watching as Saling disappears down the dusty road. Inside the cell, Tata Selo grips the bars tightly and whispers her name until his voice fades.

The police chief becomes angry and hits Tata Selo inside the office. The old man cries, explaining that the Kabesa kept hitting him first. The policemen watch silently but do not help him. The mayor smokes and watches coldly, thinking of the Kabesa’s power. Tata Selo kneels on the floor, beaten and hopeless.
