- Hey Kyle! Did you know that ostriches used to fly? And they actually didn't use to be like that.
- Oh really? But how?
- You see, it's 'cause of evolution. Due to some circumstances, it had to change its form to survive.
- So it developed a larger body and feet made for running on land, but it lost its ability to fly. 'cause of its heavy body.
- Well actually, their wings still have purpose. They hold their wings out to help them retain their balance when running, especially when they suddenly change direction.
- It still have wings though. What is its use now if it can't fly? I bet it'd be useless.
- Oh, so that's how it is.
- Even your favorite penguin, Kyle. Just like the ostrich, they had to sacrifice the ability to fly, but this time, for the ability to swim.
- Of course! Everything has gone through evolution and it still continues, but it sure does take a really long time.
- Even my favorite penguin?
- Then, did other animals go through evolution as well?
- I'll teach you again next time. But for now, let's eat dinner. C'mon mom is calling!
- It's really fascinating, isn't it?
- Uhuh, it sure is! I want to learn more!
- Woah! I learned so much today. I thought everything looked the same from before up until now.
