Sarah is on her way to a business meeting and is in a hurry.
A thief pickpocketed Sarah. Then, the thief ran off and Sarah no longer had her credit card!
Hi can report an identity theft!
Sarah ran back to her home and started taking the steps of deterring. She put all the important documents in her safe. And started shredding documents that weren't important to her. She emptied her pockets so this could never happen to her again.
Yay!
Sarah next took the steps of going through her digital pictures and making sure that no trace of private info is left. She started changing all her digital passwords, to new strong ones. She never responded to any emails she received.
She next had to start the process of defending. She started contacting credit card bureaus. They put a fraud alert on her credit card so no more purchases could be made. Then she put an identity theft report to the Federal Trade Commission. She could obtain all her info back.
Sarah was delighted to find out the next week her information was brought back to her and that she could receive a new card in the coming week! If there is ever a next time she will follow the three D's!
