Outbreak Investigation

Storyboard-Text

  • For the quantitative component, let's do a survey, and interview the patients using close-ended questions to collect more demographic variables such as age, gender, place of residence, contact persons, and travel history.
  • Task team discussing mixed-methods data collection: Epidemiologists, Laboratory Technologists and Clinicians
  • Lets review, the patient records, and compare the symptoms to known diseases, then conduct laboratory tests to confirm the disease.
  • Lets interview the people using open-ended questions to collect the qualitative data, to understand their perceptions about the use of vaccines as an intervention strategy to control the new disease.
  • Task team discussing mixed-methods data analysis: Epidemiologists, Laboratory Technologists and Clinicians
  • We will analyze the survey and patient records data to determine the prevalence and infection rate of the disease.
  • Lets also employ statistical analysis on the quantitative data to determine association between demographic variables and susceptibility to infection.
  • The themes that we will create from the qualitative data will enable us to determine the possible drivers of hesitancy towards the suggested intervention strategies, such as vaccination.
