- agriculture started around 10,000 years ago, when humans had begun to domesticate plants and animals, by establishing domesticity families and larger groups were able to build communities and transition from a nomadic hunter-gatherer lifestyle.
- agriculture is important to human civilisation because farming enabled people to grow all food that they would need in one place, this then lead to massive population growth, creating cities and trade.
- australian indigenous communities over the last thousand years have used crop growing, fish trapping and controlled burning.
- the invention of hydraulics- hydraulics are pressurised fluids which powers an engine, which is used in several agriculture equipment, these include hydraulic drives on tractors , self-propelled sprayers, self-propelled harvesters and truck loaders. hydraulics reduce the amount of manual power needed.
- the invention of the automobile, invented in 1908 henry ford invented the first automobile which was used to help farmer mover around the farm along with the transport of livestock, this invention also led the way for the first steam train and gas powered farm wagons.n the mid 18th century 2 british agriculturalists introduced selective breeding as a scientific practice and used inbreeding to stabilize certain qualities in order to reduce genetic diversity,they also were the first to breed cattle primarily for the use of beef.
- one future change to agriculture could be the use of robots, which will allow farms to be more profitable, efficient, safe and environmentally friendly.
