Rainsford enjoys a nice drink on the deck of the yacht, overlooking the, quiet, almost dead Caribbean.
Then the boat jerks on something hard, and Rainsford goes overboard, he tries to get his strength back, but it is too late, the boat is long gone and no one will be able to hear him. He decides to swim too shore.
Then! Suddenly, bang, Rainsford hears a gunshot coming from the night, and peaks over the edge, carefully so he doesn't fall over the edge.
When Rainsfod got to shore he wen't into the jungle and ran into a huge muscular man who towered over him, and a much smaller man with a pointy mustache.
When they got to Zaroff's place of home, they ate and while they ate Zaroff talked about how much of a hunter he was like Rainsford, he offered Rainsford to join him in hunting Rainsford agreed, but when he found out that it was humanthey were huntung he declined.
It turned out that the two men Rainsford ran into, in the jungle were quite nice, the second man who's name is General Zaroff, offers Rainsford help, which he gladly takes.
So Rainsford played the game and he actually won setting traps and making Zaroff's life ever so difficult.
After Rainsford declined the hunting offer, Zaroff punished him by making him the one he is hunting.
Then later on Rainsford confronted Zaroff in his bedroom and told him this was the last game he ever played.
