- Jade went to the first women-to-women meeting and Maxine never showed up. Jade sat in the corner and saw all the other mentees get matched up with their mentors and jade left as they were getting started with the meeting. Maxine randomly went to Jade's house after not showing up to apologize and give her a gift. Maxine got jade coloring books for Jade's collages and drawings. Jade was excited to meet maxine but was still upset about being stood up.
- As jade was getting on her usual bus to go to school she noticed a girl she hadn't seen before. The girl looked at Jade and smiled at her in a friendly manner. Sam signals for jade to go over to her so she does and they introduce themselves. After the girls get acquainted they agree to become friends. They later sit together on every bus ride to and from school and also sit together at lunch.
- Jade's birthday came around and her father said he had a special gift that he would drop off at her mom's house. Jade's father never showed up and Jade went to bed very upset and confused. Jade still mad went to her father's house when she was invited. She stepped into the house and the father apologized and gave her a present. Jade opens the gift to recieve a camera for taking picture for her collages and she is ecstatic. but is still somewhat upset at her father for missing her birthday.
