Storyboard-Text

  • Come child, come.
  • Look ,child, what is before you!
  • I want that toy.
  • Come child, come.
  • It was the festival of spring. One little boy ran between his father's legs, brimming over with life and laughter
  • Gulab-jaman, rasagulla, burfi, jalebi.
  • A garland of gulmohar, a garland of gulmohar!
  • His father looked at him red-eyed, in his familiar tyrant's way. His mother, melted by the free spirit of the day was tender and gave him her finger to hold.
  • How did you get here? Whose child are you?  Do want to have a ride on the horse?  Do you want a rainbow-coloured balloon? What sweets would you like?
  • It was a flowering mustard-field, pale like melting gold as it swept across miles and miles of even land.
  • Mother! Father!
  • The child wanted the sweets but he half knew as he begged his plea wouldn't be heeded because his parents would say he was greedy. He wanted the garland but he well knew his parents would refuse to buy those flowers because they would say that they were cheap.
  • The child wanted to go on the roundabout but when he turned to ask  his parents, they weren't there. A full, deep cry rose within his dry throat and with a sudden jerk of his body he ran from where he stood, crying in real fear. A man tried to help the child calm down by offering him things.
  • No, I just want my mother and my father.
  • To his surprise his parents were just a few meters behind him. He had gotten distracted and went ahead. Upon finding them he rushed towards them with happy tears.
