- Why does this pizza say its 5 dollars but when I check out it costs more, and says theres a tax of 10%
- Well that's America for you, It's sales tax.
- Sales tax is a tax for goods that usually goes to the government.
- So 5x.10=.50 or 50 cents. If we add that to our starting value of 5.00 we get a total of 5.50
- 5.50
- Ok, I see, but how can I solve this sales tax?
- Well for this, you must multiply the starting number(5.00) by the tax(10% or .10) Then add that to your starting value
