- Laurie Hernandez is a famous gymnast. In 2013 Laurie first joined the U.S Gymnastics National team. She started competing in the international events that same year. After missing the 2014 season due to many injuries she won the junior all-around title at the 2015 U.S championships.

- Laurie Hernandez grew up in New Jersey. In February 2012, Laurie returned to elite gymnastics at the 2021 winter cup. She competed in 2 events. She performed a clean beam routine and finished in fifth on that event. At the 2021 U.S classic, she competed on vault and balance beam but fell off the beam. In June Laurie had to withdraw from the 2021 U.S championships due to knee injury during warm ups. She did not qualify for the Olympic Trials. She later shared that she had a torn meniscus, bone, bruise, and a cyst. Then she officially retired from competitive gymnastics in 2021.

- Later in 2021 she finally retired from gymnastics and is now in a relationship with a fellow gymnast named Charlotte Drury and they have been together since December 2020.
- At the end of the day Laurie is a talented person who is such a hard-worker who never never ever gives up! She keeps on trying and trying no matter what gets in her way
- Laurie also wrote 2 amazing books. They are called "I Got This' and "She's Got This".
