I am King George. I want to make money off the colonies.
I will impose a law (The Navigation Act) that will force the colonists to have all imports and exports go through Britain
That way, I can impose tarriffs and taxes on the goods and products.
King George is busy and far away. I will just keep on trading with whomever I want.

The colonists have dumped tea into Boston harbor and destroyed my property. I will punish them by cutting off all trade, even to Britain!

He has forbidden us to trade with any nation except England. Imagine!
That's not fair! We need to trade with other nations to grow our economy.
That is exactly what old George wants. He wants to weaken our economy so we are dependent on him.
I say, that is intolerable! We MUST break our bond with Britain.
