in the Paleolithic, the people used to live anywhere they could find even caves. because they were nomads, they didn't have time to build more complicated work. they would also build small huts made of animal skin and sticks
Neolithic: new technologies
During this time as they didn't move, they had much more time to build. As a result, they created more stable and in general better houses. They simply couldn't live in a hut forever they would get destroyed
during the Paleolithic era toll were mostly used to get the skin of animals and cut antler and bones to make more tools like harpoons to hunt animals
in the Neolithic tools adapted to fit their lifestyle. for example, in the Paleolithic they used tolls for skinning animals and in the Neolithic they used them to plow fields and control animals and plants better
