- Hi my name is Samantha and I am 30 years old. When I was ...around 9, I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. This is how it went.

- Since I was little, I always had a sweet tooth.
- All the kids would make fun of me because I would eat so bad and I didn’t have a lot of energy, so I was slower.
- You have Diabetes. You must eat healthy.
- She told me my blood sugar was too high, so to lay off the sodas and sweets.
- One day my mom said that I was really slowing down compared to all the other kids. I knew I really was.
- We went back to the doctor and they did some tests and stuff and when they came back, they broke it to us. I had diabetes. My mom started sobbing. He told us that there was a way to get rid of it because it was type two. I had to eat VERY healthy and only 1, yes 1 sweet a week. OH, and I had to exercise, daily.l So instead of sugary drinks, I would drink water. Instead of chips and fries I would eat fruits and vegetables
