Exposing children to democracy earlier on will build a strong connection with the teacher and the other children.
Students should be told that their options matter.
Encouraging democracy in classrooms will enable students to build confidence and create a positive impact in their lives.

At the beginning of the school year, it is important to allow children to help create the classroom rules. When children help to create the rules, they are more likely to follow the rules, while also holding their peers accountable.
