In chapter 1, Justyce is shown getting pulled over by Officer Castillo acusing them of doing something for their race. This is important as it shows why someone's race shouldn't be assumed for doing wrong things in the world.
Knock! Knock!

In chapter 4, Kyle and his friends are making fun of Justyce for his race. This important as it shows what race has to do with the way other people act and it shows how bad the world is these days.
Justyce gets a call saying he is accepted in a early administration into Yale university. This is important to the story because it shows that Justyce has a chance to go to a very good university and pursue his dreams and not have to stay around where he is being made fun of and has to worry every day.
BANG! BANG!BANG!
Justyce is sleeping when he hears Manny knocking on his door. Here is shown that Manny wants to tell Justyce if he wants to go for a ride with him. This is important because they are risking going for a ride in their neighborhood.
Manny picks up Justyce and they go on a drive. This is important because something bad is going to happen next and they aren't ready for it and what happens ties into the racism which is what they story is about.
A white guy calls Manny and Justyce in the car some racial slurs so Manny tells the guy to F**k off. The guy proceeds to pull out a gun and shoot Manny dead.
