  • In 1930s, Jem Finch, his younger, tomboyish sister Scout, and their friend Dill Harris, were both terrified and fascinated by Boo Radley, to the point where they started plotting how to get Boo out of his house. However, Atticus, a respected lawyer and Jem and Scout's father, had to confront them in order for them to leave Boo Radley alone. Nevertheless, one night, they snuck into the Radley Place, where they saw a mysterious shadow, and Boo's brother Nathan shot his shotgun over their heads, and the trio knew they had to leave ASAP, with Jem losing his pants in the process. However, later when Jem went to retrieve his pants, he found them folded and mended, as if someone (probably Boo) was expecting him.

  • Eventually, mysterious "gifts" started appearing at the knot hole of an oak tree near the Radley Place, and Scout and Jem collected them. Those mysterious gifts included a gray twine, two soap-carved figures, a pack of chewing gum, a spelling medal, and a broken pocket watch. Both Scout and Jem knew that it was Boo Radley the one who left those gifts in the knot hole. Unfortunately, both siblings weren't able to leave a thank you note in the knot hole, as Nathan, Boo's brother, covered it with cement.

  • One winter night, Jem and Scout's neighbor, Miss Maudie Atkinson's house caught fire, and while several people rushed to help, Jem and Scout watched from the outside until...the house collapsed. The next morning, Scout didn't know she had a strange blanket around her neck, and her father Atticus told her that Boo Radley might have put it there.
