Without the right to freely congregate and the right to free speech, we would not be able to express the issues that plague the US today; for example, Martin Luther King Junior would not have been able to end segregation.

The eight amendment prevents people from cruel and unusual punishment. Without this amendment, people would get harsher punishments than they deserved for any crime they committed, and justice would not be served.
