- After the Interphase here comes the M phase or the Mitosis. During this phase the two copies of each chromosome are separated. It has four stages.

- So to sum it all up, the cell undergoes 5 phases. The Interphase is divided into three stages, the first one is G1, during which the cell grows rapidly and prepares to divide. To accomplish this, the cell enters the S phase, where it duplicates all of the DNA.
- Once the DNA has been duplicated and there is a complete additional set of all the genetic material, the cell enters the G2 stage, when it organizes and condenses the genetic material, or begins to condense the genetic material, and prepares to divide.
