- What's up friend! You look problematic? What's the matter?
- Oh hey, yeah you are right. I have a problem. Our teacher in science class assigned me to report about EM waves. I have little to no knowledge about that topic, Argh I hate science. What should I do!?
- Oh! Don't worry! I can help you with that! We recently discussed that topic so I am quite confident that I can help you with that!
- First of, you should know, what electromagnetic spectrum is. Electromagnetic spectrum is a set of electromagnetic radiation or waves base on their frequency or wavelength. EM waves have various types such as Radio, microwave, infrared, visible light, ultraviolet light and X-ray. Their arrangement in spectrum depends on how long or how short their wavelengths and frequencies are. It is also important to take note of this. Frequency and Wavelength have direct relationship. The longer the wavelength, the longer also the frequency and vice versa.
- EM waves have many and various everyday application. For instance, EM waves is utilized in communication through the use of cellphones, radios and televisions. It is also used in cooking as our appliances uses EM waves in order to function. Additionally, did you know that these waves also holds important in medicine? These waves are used to treat various deadly diseases such as cancers and is utilized in screenings tests such as x-rays. As much as you hate science, we really need to learn this because as you can tell now, it helps us have a better life.
