Hi everyone, my name is Marco, and I grew up between Padova, Italy and Ithaca, NY, where I was always surrounded by countryside, waterfalls and woods. Being exposed to nature and the outdoors at a young age made me a very passionate environmentalist and conservationist when I learned of climate change early on.

Eager to help play a meaningful part in the climate crisis, I went to university and got my BS in environmental science and environmental economics, originally intending to pursue ecology and conservation. After some time, I felt that conservation would not achieve the level of change I wanted to help implement.
I felt that the most effective way to create change was through market-based solutions and economically sound policy. As such, I sought to expand my experience outside of ecology research and into environmental economics/finance.

Shortly after graduation from my BS, I decided to pursue the SUMA program. Through this, I aim to develop my financial and economics skillsets and contribute more meaningfully to climate mitigation.
In this course, I hope to learn more about effective solutions to transition to clean energy and develop my financial background on the subject!
