- Day throughout the story found June familiar after he had a face off with her brother. Now after running away he finally remembers her.
- "And then, in an instant, I realize why the Girl had looked so familiar Her eyes. Those dark, gold-flecjed eyes. The young captain named Metias" (154).
- This is a huge aha moment where June and the audience discover that the Republic is not being truthful to anyone and that they are now the enemy to June.

- " Day didn't fail his trail, Not even close, he got the same score I did: 1500/1500. I am no longer the Republic's only prodigy with a perfect score"(187).
