- So, under IDEA we must provide:

- Caleb's IEP allows him to keep a Tablet with him to access grade level content. It empowers him to tap into his full potential.

- Mr. Williams: IDEA stand for Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. It is a federal law that was passed in 1975 that makes Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) to tailor to a child's needs and is eligible for all children with disabilities

- Parents are equal partners in the IEP process. IDEA guarantees their voice is heard.

- Schools must ensure trained staff, proper documentation and compliance with timelines.

- IDEA gives individualized supports, promotes inclusion, and protects their rights.

- However, IDEA can be limited by funding, Staff shortages or inconsistent implementation

- We will provide on going professional development to help staff understand IDEA requirements and inclusive teaching strategies.

- We ensure collaboration between SPED and GEN ED teachers

- monitoring student progress to ensure students meet their IEP goals

- We are hosting quarterly family workshops and resources under IDEA!

- Yes! and as leaders its our job to model integrity, fairness and empathy when applying the law.
- Lets encourage our students to share their IEP goals in parent meetings.

- I hope we feel more confident now about what IDEA is!
- And when we follow with integrity, we can create an environment where all kids can flourish!
