- א;א - וְאֵ֗לֶּה שְׁמוֹת֙ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל הַבָּאִ֖ים מִצְרָ֑יְמָה אֵ֣ת יַֽעֲקֹ֔ב אִ֥ישׁ וּבֵית֖וֹ בָּֽאוּ:יַֽעֲקֹ֔בsons came with him to Egypt with him, each with their own household.

- א;יא - וַיָּשִׂ֤ימוּ עָלָיו֙ שָׂרֵ֣י מִסִּ֔ים לְמַ֥עַן עַנֹּת֖וֹ בְּסִבְלֹתָ֑ם וַיִּ֜בֶן עָרֵ֤י מִסְכְּנוֹת֙ לְפַרְעֹ֔ה אֶת־פִּתֹ֖ם וְאֶת־רַֽעַמְסֵֽס:The king put on tax collectors, which are people who collect tax as we know from Rashi מסים on the Jews because of his distain for them. they ended using that money to build store cities for Pharaoh.

- א;טז - וַיֹּ֗אמֶר בְּיַלֶּדְכֶן֙ אֶת־הָ֣עִבְרִיּ֔וֹת וּרְאִיתֶ֖ן עַל־הָֽאָבְנָ֑יִם אִם־בֵּ֥ן הוּא֙ וַֽהֲמִתֶּ֣ן אֹת֔וֹ וְאִם־בַּ֥ת הִ֖וא וָחָֽיָה:Pharaoh told the midwives that if they see that the Jewish women give birth to a a boy then they should kill them, and if its a girl they should let them live. The reason why he wanted the boys to die was because he saw through his astronomers that a Jewish baby boy will free the Jews as a whole (אם בן הוא וגוּ) Lesson: Shifrah and Puah has full faith in G-d regardless of the fact that their lives were on the line. Witout this faith, the Jewish nation wouldnt be here today, This shows us that in the times that would logicly seem impossible to believe in G-d, that when we need to trust Him the most.

- ב;ו - וַתִּפְתַּח֙ וַתִּרְאֵ֣הוּ אֶת־הַיֶּ֔לֶד וְהִנֵּה־נַ֖עַר בֹּכֶ֑ה וַתַּחְמֹ֣ל עָלָ֔יו וַתֹּ֕אמֶר מִיַּלְדֵ֥י הָֽעִבְרִ֖ים זֶֽה:Pharaoh daughter opened the basket opened it and saw a Jewish boy. But she didn't only se the boy she say the shichina with him. Lesson: Pharoah's daughter had so much compation on a Jewish boy regardless of her father hating the Jews so much. This shows us that everyone should have compassion, regardless of their place in life.
