- I will be your host today. Today we will be sharing how your immigration was and why you decided to leave your country and go to your new one

- Okay. Me, Josef, was born in Berlin Germany and at the age of 12, my life changed by the night called Kristallnacht. But not only my life changed, it was my dads as well
- Okay, let's get started! How about Josef, you go first!
- Josef
- My house was broken into on a late night in 1938 because my dad continued to practice law even after the Act of 1933 and was taken to a concentration camp by the Nazis

- That sounds really tough, Josef!

- 6 months later I was able to get a telegram from my father from his concentration camp called Dachau but we would have to leave the country within 14 days.
- Josef
- Since we were told already twice to leave Germany and most things were ruined from Kristallnacht, we decided to leave to Cuba on a boat called the MS St. Louis.
