The French revolution was started in 1789. The people of the middle class revolted against the cruel regime of the monarchy that they lived under. the revolution created ideas of life liberty and equality.

The spread of enlightenment ideas such as Life, Liberty, and Equality . Insufficient government. Mistreatment of the lower estates.
The Storming of the Bastille
it was a meeting of the three estates in the french society which was the clergy, nobility, and the peasant classes. the estate a person belonged to was important because that determined that persons rights and obligations.
The Great Fear
the tennis court oath was a dramatic defiance by representatives of the non-privileged classes of the french nation. it was important in terms of displaying the belief that political authority came from the people not the monarchy.
The storming of the bastille symbolically marked the beginning of the french revolution. which the monarchy was overthrown and a republic set up based on the ideas of liberty, equality, and brotherhood.
the french revolution was a time of great fear and riots amongst the peasants and members of the lower classes. the king had the power to overthrow the third estate. eventually the peasants gathered together and overthrew the king bu=y storming the bastille.
