- Viola: " who governs here?"Viola: " what is his name?"
- Captain: " A noble duke, in nature as in name."Captain: "Orsino"

- Sir And: " Sir Toby Blech! How now, Sir Toby Blech?"

- Duke Orsino pines for Olivia.

- Viola/Cesario: " you either fear his humour, or my negligence, that you call in question the continuance of his love. is he inconstant, sir, in his favours?"
- Val: "If the Duke continues these favours towards you, Cesario, you are like to be much advanced: he hath known you but three days, and already you are no stranger"
- Viola enquires about Illyria’s Duke and Countess from the captain that saved her

- Olivia: " I cannot love him: let him send no more, unless, perchance, you come to me again. To tell me how he takes it"
- Sir Toby and Sir Andrew gossip with Maria.
- ACT 2 SCENE 1
- Seb: "A lady, sir, though it was said she muchresembled me, was yet of many accounted beautiful.But though I could not with such estimablewonder overfar believe that, yet thus far I will boldlypublish her: she bore a mind that envy could not butcall fair. She is drowned already, sir, with salt water,though I seem to drown her remembrance againwith more".
