It has a quiet morning in the city, the sky was dark as Mia walked down her street. It was her first day at a new school. She took a deep breath, trying to calm the butterflies in her stomach. “You can do this,” she whispered to herself as she headed toward the large brick building at the end of the block.
Just as Mia reached the school, dark clouds rolled overhead, and rain began to pour. Big drops splashed onto the sidewalk, and puddles quickly formed near the entrance. Mia hurried up the steps, her shoes making soft splashing sounds. “Of course it would rain today,” she said to herself. Taking a deep breath, she pushed open the heavy doors, leaving the storm behind her.

Inside, the classroom felt bright and welcoming. Desks were neatly arranged, and a large green board stretched across the front wall. Mia chose a desk near the middle and sat down. Her heart was still racing, but when another student smiled at her, she felt a spark of hope. Maybe this new place wouldn’t be so scary after all.
