- Macbeth now decides whether to assassinate King Duncan in order to fulfill his prophecy. The idea is quite enticing.
- Macbeth considers the fact that Duncan is a kind, humble person, and that to murder him would be immoral.
- His intuition warns him against going through with the crime, yet his greed prevails.
