  • Lets use the example:∫x^8dx

  • Firstly, keep in mind that dx turns into the constant C. The rule is the following to get the antiderivative. x^n+1 over n+1. In this case, the exponent 8 is n so just add 1 and do the same at the bottom. You should have gotten x^9 over 9.

  • Now you just add what you just got and add the constant C to it. It would look like this: x^9/9+C. Simple right?

  • Now, lets say that you had a constant called K. For example: In this equation, K=3. ∫3x^8dx.

  • If this happens, you move the K or in this case the 3 to the outside. Then you find the antiderivative of x^8, which is x^9 over 9. Then you multiply K, which is 3. This would be 3 times x^9/9. Which simplified would be 1/3x^9. Then you add your constant C to it. Your answer is: 1/3x^9+C.
