  • Well there is another process called cellular respiration. Every organism does it. It is when the mitochondria in your cells takes glucose and turns that into ATP, basically energy for the cells. There are two types, aerobic and anaerobic.
  • Gleiten: 2
  • The difference between anaerobic and aerobic is whether there is oxygen present or not. Aerobic means there is and it is a lot more efficient than anaerobic. Anaerobic is a lot less efficient and doesn't involve oxygen.
  • There is a type of anaerobic respiration called fermentation. The difference between normal anaerobic respiration and fermentation is how fermentation only involves glycolysis. Fermentation just regenerates a molecule glycolysis needs to run.

  • Oops, got a little sidetracked. Cellular respiration gives off carbon dioxide as a byproduct. Plants use carbon dioxide for photosynthesis and they give off oxygen as a byproduct. That oxygen once again most likely goes back into an organism for cellular respiration. Meaning we have most likely shared the same molecule of oxygen before!
  • Also, don't forget that plants can also perform cellular respiration!
  • Oh wow, that's so cool! Thanks for giving me this opportunity to learn from you!
  • No problem!

  • So how does that correlate with us being connected?
  • I still don't get how we have used the same molecules before!
