- After escaping from a shooting at a party, Starr and Khalil were on their way home.

- When in the middle of recalling their childhood memories a police car pulls them over.

- The police officer asked for the car’s documents. Khalil groans and pull out his wallet. After asking several times why the officer pulled them over the officer, he finally replied. Having had enough with his attitude, the officer orders Khalil to get out of the car.

- The officer instructed Khalil to “Stay here” while he went back to his patrol car. Starr’s parents raised her to fear the police and she knew not to make a sudden move while a cop had his back on you, but Khalil did.

- The officer shoots him thinking he was reaching for a gun. Khalil looks at Starr stunned and falls to the ground. Starr jumped out of the car and rushed to Khalil. The officer pointed the same gun at Starr, she put her hands up.
