Climax
The narrator travels on horseback to see his old friend Roderick Usher. Roderick summoned the narrator through a letter expressing he is terminally ill and wishes to see him.
Falling Action
Roderick Usher and the narrator visit and talk about Roderick and Madeline Usher's illnesses. Madeline is Roderick's twin sister who is very ill and going to die.
Resolution
Madeline Usher dies of her illnesses. Her twin brother Roderick Usher and the narrator bury her body in one of the vaults of the usher family mansion.
Conflict
Roderick Usher's illnesses worsen after his sister's passing leading his schizophrenia to be at an all time high. The narrator is starting to develop symptoms of paranoia and anxiety while staying in the Usher family mansion.
The narrator and Roderick were on edge, so they decided to read a story. Every sound described in the story seemed to be real and heard by both men. Roderick exclaims his dead sister is at the door. The door opens and she is standing there covered in blood. She falls dead onto Roderick leading him to also die of his illnesses.
The Narrator was the only true friend of Roderick Usher. The Ushers were a group of people who kept in the family to keep their blood pure. Roderick had fallen ill and was going to die soon.
