The Great Gatsby: Chapter 5

1. Jordan and Nick finish talking about their plan for Daisy and Gatsby to meet. After, Nick goes home. 2. When Nick goes home, Gatsby is waiting for him at his house. Gatsby is very excited for the plan to see Daisy. Gatsby also asks Nick if he wants to make some extra money. It seems suspicious, so Nick says no. 3. Nick calls his cousin, Daisy, and asks her if she wants to come to his house for tea. She is excited and says yes. She does not know that Gatsby will be there too. 4. The next day, Gatsby is extremely nervous. When Daisy gets there, Nick goes to a different room so Daisy and Gatsby can be alone. Everything sounds very awkward, so he joins them again. 5. Gatsby wants to talk to Nick alone in a different room. Gatsby freaks out about how badly things are going with Daisy. He thinks it was a mistake to invite Daisy over. Nick leaves them alone again. 6. When Nick comes back, Daisy and Gatsby are very happy. Gatsby is showing Nick and Daisy his mansion and all his extravagant things. Gatsby has all these nice things just to impress Daisy. Nick goes home. Daisy and Gatsby stay together at Gatsby's house.
