- Oh! Look a caterpillar! it is eating the leafs of the plant. the plant is the primary producer and the Caterpillar is the primary consumer!
- Oh no! here comes a frog to eat the Caterpillar. The frog is the secondary consumer. Oh look a snake!
- Whoa! now the snake is eating the frog! The snake is the tertiary consumer . Oh no! And now there is a hawk!
- WHAT?! Now the hawk ate the snake and the snake bit the hawk! The snake is the primary consumer.
- And now sadly the food chain is complete. The decomposers will help break down the energy and hawk.
- The energy transfers that happen through the food chain ultimately help to grow and further the Earth's environmental system.
