- The Nazis will not reach our Jewish town. I cannot abandon our house and possessions due to fear.

- At Buna concentration camp, Elie is lucky and works in an electrical warehouse. Moreover, Elie meets a young French women, which states, "'Bite your lips, little brother...Don't cry. Keep your anger, your hate, for another day...'" (Wiesel 53).
- This little boy is an innocent angel, which does not deserve to die.
