- Very Little Rainfall
- The climate in the Southwest very rarely changes; it is usually hot with dry air and sun. Some parts of the Southwest have more than 300 days of sunshine per year!
- Because there is very little rainfall in the Southwest, droughts are a concern. The parts of the region that get some rainfall have to use the water sparingly for crops. Most areas are too dry to grow crops at all.
