- Monster! Everyone attack!
- "Not long after I was brought to life, I encountered a village. However, instead of the warm welcome I'd hoped for, the frightened townsfolk started throwing rocks at me, and I fled."
- Ahhh!
- Why are they doing this to me? I'm not wanted here or anywhere else at all.
- Felix, let's go get the firewood.
- Okay, Agatha.
- Well would you look at that: a cottage! I'll just stay in that shed right over there!
- "As I was watching the cottagers from my new-found hovel, I learned what the day-in-a-life of a human looks like, only these people always looked miserable."
- "After that run-in I stumbled upon a cottage, and decided to live in the shed."

- "And so...I began to regularly collect firewood for the cottagers, in hopes that they would accept me for who I was. After all my hard work, there wouldn't be a reason not to."
- "I dared not think that they would turn them from me with disdain and horror." pg. 132

- "One day, while Felix and Agatha were out, I attempted to befriend the old De Lacey. He was blind, and would therefore not be disgusted by my looks."
- "I was shocked and angry that wonderful people did such a horrible thing. If the cottagers didn't accept me, no one would. So, out of anger, I found reasons to go back and try again."

- "At this point, I knew for myself that nobody did (or ever would) love me. My chances were ruined. From that day on, I declared revenge on all humankind. Starting with the village."
- Landlord, we are leaving at once!
- Yes sir, as you wish.
- Yes Humans, I will burn down your village, and you can't stop me!
- Little boy, come with me!
- No, I won't! You are an ugly wretch! When my father, Victor hears of this...
- "Revenge was starting to work out, but I needed more. I was going to Geneva to seek revenge on my creator. You Victor."
- "At last, a sign of Victor! I decided that since you were my enemy, Willaim was too. So, I took the opportunity to finish the boy off once and for all!"
