- Today class we will be investigating water as a solvent
- This an "universal solvent" because it dissolves more substances than any other liquid.
- Water is capable of dissolving a variety of different substances, which makes a good solvent.
- So Question of the day what is a better solvent Water or Oil ?
- The crystals dissolved in the water!!
- Water is a better solvent.In the lab, we discovered that the crystals dissolved in water and not oil.So that explains how water is a better solvent.
- soooo water would be our answer
- The crystals did not dissolve in the oil :(
