De setting van een verhaal is de allerbelangrijkste tijd en plaats. In het boek, Walk Two Moons, verhuist Sal van Bybanks, Kentucky naar Euclid, Ohio en ze beginnen aan een langlaufreis met haar grootouders. Bij deze activiteit kunnen leerlingen een kaart gebruiken om de verschillende plaatsen die Sal en haar grootouders onderweg hebben bezocht te identificeren en te illustreren.
