- Yes ! Riel should be killed!
- MacDonald did not stop Riel's hanging, so henceforth, English and French conflict exploded.

- As shown before, MacDonald did not try to find a common ground for this. He just listened to the English and killed Riel.
- The English wanted Riel dead
- This infuriated the French . Support for the conservative party in Quebec plummeted.
- The French/Metis/ Cree people thougt of Riel as a hero who defended French/ Roman rights.
- Finally, In 1992, the government of Canada proposed a bill that reversed Riel's conviction for treason, recognized him as the founder of Manitoba, and acknowledged his contribution to the advancement of Confederation and of Metis rights.
