Hi! I'm Dan, the water drop. Today i'll help you learn about the water cycle!
The cycle begins here, at the sea! The sun heats the top layer of the ocean so much that the water turns into water vapor in the process of evaporation.
Then where does the vapor go Dan?
You're right John! As the water vapor rises up into the air it gets cooled by the atmosphere and forms tiny water droplets. These water droplets come together to form clouds in the process of condensation.
Water vapor!
Oh no, we're...
This is Dan, the water drop. He is part of the awesome cycle called the Water cycle and he definitely knows what it is. Let's follow him as he helps John and Sylvia learn about the water cycle!
You're completely right Miss Sylvia the Obvious!
Hey!
Once these clouds get too heavy, they release the water in some form of precipitation such as rain, snow, hail or sleet.
We're falling!
First, The sun heats up the top layer of oceans, lakes and rivers so much that the water turns into water vapor (a gas) in the process called evaporation. Plants also lose excess water in the form of water vapor from their leaves in the process of transpiration.
So, you are telling me that we are going to do this for the rest of our lives?!
If you get out, you won't!
The water then lands on rivers or lakes and flows back into the ocean to start the process all over again; that's why it's called a cycle!
Finally, we're done!
As the water vapor rises into in the air it gets cooled by the atmosphere's cold air and forms into tiny water droplets. Eventually, these water droplets come together to form clouds in the process of condensation.

Once the clouds get too heavy and can't hold anything anymore, the release the water in them in some form of precipitation like rain, snow, hail or sleet.
We're rain!
Then the water either lands on rivers to flow back into the ocean or it lands in dirt to be soaked up by plants or it becomes runoff when it lands on a mountain and flows back into the ocean to
