- If you look at a map all the continents seem to fit together if pushed closer. What if they all were once one big continent?
- That's not possible
- Over time the continents must have drifted apart. We see the same animals and plants in continents that would have been next to eachother before the drift apart!
- On an expedition to Greenland Alfred Wegener died without his theory being accepted.
- 30 years later the idea of plate tectonics came about and Wegener's theory was proven to be correct.
- It seems he was right all along...
- Continetal drift theory This theory was by ALfred Wegener It was the other scientists who dismissed it origionally...
- Now he is recognised for his work and how his theory shaped our knowledge of the world today
