(Chapter 1)- Justyce was trying to rescue his drunk ex-girlfriend, Melo but as a result he ended up getting wrongly assaulted and arrested by a white police officer for no good reason.

I thought everything would be cool as soon as her parents got here, no matter what they told the cops, these dudes would not release me.
(Chapter 1)- After Justyce had gotten detained Mr. Taylor offered to call Justyce's mom, but the cops made it clear that since he was 17, he was considered an adult when placed under arrest implying that there wasn't anything his mom could do.

I'm not real sure what to feel. Never thought I'd be in this kind of situation.
(Chapter 1)- After Mrs. Friedman who is Sarah Jane's mom came to the police station, she talked to the cops about his right since she's an attorney and the cops they let Justyce go. She drove him back to his door room.
