Storyboard-Text

  • Fleance wonders why his Mother is up so late. She responds that it's because of the thoughts in her head. She knew that her husband has been getting worse with his hallucinations.
  • And yet I would not sleep. Merciful powers restrain in me the cursed thoughts that nature gives way to in repose.
  • I take 't 'tislate, sir.
  • Macbeth walks in and gives his wife a diamond that King Duncan has given him. It's ironic because he is unaware of what she's been thinking.
  • What, sir, not yet at rest? The king's abed. He hath been in unusual pleasure, and sent forth great largess to your offices, This diamond he greets your wife withal, By the name of most kind hostess, and shut up in measureless content.
  • All's well, I dreamt last night of the three weird sisters. To you they showed some truth.
  • In Act 1, the three witches give Macbeth and Banquo some prophecies. Banquo tells Macbeth that she had a dream involving them and the prophecies.
  • I think not of them. Yet, when we can entreat an hour to serve, we would spend it in some words upon that business, if you would grant the time.
  • Is this a dagger which i see before me, The handle toward my hand? Come, let me clutch thee.
  • Macbeth has a vision where he sees a dagger in front of him.
  • Hear not my steps, which way they walk, for fear Thy very stones prate of my whereabout, And take the present horror from the time, which now suits with it. Whiles I threat, he lives . Words to the heat of deeds too cold breath gives.
  • Macbeth isn't in the right state of mind. He wants to take the dagger to kill King Duncan with it.
  • I go, and it is done. The bell invites me. Hear it not, Duncan, for it is a knell. The summons thee to heaven or to hell.
  • Macbeth's mind takes over. When he heard a bell he knew it was time to kill Duncan.
