Romeo and Juliet

- The servants start mocking each other and a brawl erupts. The prince breaks it up and informs the people that if they continue, it will cost them their life.
- Act 1 Scene 1
- Paris visits Lord Capulet, asking to marry his daughter, Juliet. We learn she is not quite 14years old, and Capulet tells Paris to wait two more years. Nevertheless, Capulet invites Paristo a masked ball, or party, at their house.
- Act 1 Scene 2
- Act 1 Scene 5
- From across the room, Romeo spots Juliet. All his emotions of Rosaline vanish in an instant, and he is now deeply in love with Juliet. Then begin to talk, and they share a kiss.
- Act 2 Scene 1
- Romeo decides that he must try to find Juliet. He climbs a wall into the Capulet orchard. Juliet appears in the window above of the spot where Romeo is situated. They confess their love towards each other once more and then depart.
- Act 2 Scene 3
- It is now early on Monday morning, and Romeo goes to see his friend, Friar Laurence. WhenLaurence last saw Romeo he was lovesick about Rosaline, and Laurence is pleased to seethe change in him – until he realizes that Romeo wants to marry some new girl. FriarLaurence agrees to marry Romeo to Juliet in the hope that the union will bring peace to thewarring families.
- Act 2 Scene 6
- Romeo waits for Juliet with Friar Laurence. She arrives, and the couple kiss. Romeo and Julietare married – though, interestingly, the ceremony is not performed on stage.
