Long ago, a woman named Maryand a man named Joseph were getting married. Mary and Joseph were good peoplewho did what God wanted them to do. One day, an angel appeared toMary and told her that she would have a baby. The angel said that she shouldname the baby Jesus. This baby is the Son of God, the Savior.

Mary and Joseph had to visit the city of Bethlehem to pay taxes. The city was very crowded. So they spent the night in a place where animals were kept. That night, Baby Jesus was born. A new star appeared in the sky. Not far from this place, shepherds were looking after their sheep in a field. Angels appeared and told the shepherds that the Savior had been born. The shepherds hurried to see Baby Jesus and worship Him.

In a distant land, the Magi saw a new star. They knew that this was a sign of the birth of the Savior. They followed the star until they found Jesus. They brought Him gifts and worshiped Him.After the Magi left, an angel appeared to Joseph. He said that the evil king wanted to hurt Jesus. The angel said that their family needed to move to Egypt to be saved. Joseph, Mary, and Jesus lived in Egypt until it was safe to return to Israel. Jesus grew up in the city of Nazareth. He learned to help people, and to be kind and obedient. He learned everything He needed to know to be the Savior. He always followed God's plan.
