Egeus wants Hermia to marry Demetrius however Hermia wants to marry Lysander. Theseus gives the 3 options to Hermia: marry Demetrius, become a nun, or die. Hermia and Lysander plan on escaping to the woods.
Act IV
Hermia runs with Lysander but Demetrius and Helena follow them into the woods. However they are in the woods where the fairies were. Oberon (Fairy king) wants puck (servant) to put a magical flower on Demetrius. However, puck instead uses it on Lysander.
Act V
Puck now has to resolve the issue. He tries to use the same magical flower on Demetrius and both Demetrius and Lysander fall for Helena. Helena thinks it's a way of mocking her. Hermia is angry and starts to fight with Helena. However, the guys support Helena.
DENOUEMENT
The men and the women began to fight over all over this and Puck notices it. Puck decides to make them all fall asleep so that he can reverse the magic. The Duke notices them all asleep in the woods and decides to take them home. After listening to their experience, he invites Hermia and Lysander to get married.
In the end, Theseus and Hippolyta, Hermia and Lysander, and Helena and Demetrius all get married. By the end, a group of actors decide to make a play to entertain Theseus and Hippolyta.
In the end, everyone is married! The play “Pyramus and Thisbe” is performed, and Puck ends the play by asking the audience to remember it all as if it were a dream!
