- This scene shows how hamlet did not care about polonius because he does not care he just killed him. this also shows the lack of relationship between him and his mother because he does not care about her seeing his madness.
- Gertrude is astonished by Hamlets madness and careless choice and acts. Gertrude is starting to see the madness.

- mother do you see him, its father, he seems upset with the way I am speaking to you. don't give that look father.
- Hamlet, are you okay? there is no one there. I done know who you are talking too but you have gone insane have you? please stop this, you are making my heart ache for your wellness.
- Hamlet, do not speak to your mother this way, I know you want revenge but look how shocked you have made your mother.
- Gertrude does not see the ghost of King Hamlet, making her left to question Hamelt's sanity. Gertrude is fearing her son is really mad. I can only imagine what is going through her mind as these scenes play out. Gertrude must being going through stages of emotions like fear, confusion and shock.

- during this scene I can only think that Gertrude is scared to not follow Hamlet's orders. because she just witnessed what he can do and she fears what he might do if she doesn't follow the orders. But I also wonder if she feels some sort of loyalty to her son that she feels as though she must obey the orders given to her.
- I know I have done you wrong mother, but listen. You must not sleep with the king tonight. I must prepare for England, so follow me order while i'm gone. sleep well, I adore you mother.
- I will do as you say. I have forgotten that you will be sent to England. please take care of yourself.
