- many long years ago there lived an arrogant and cruel young lord who ruled over a small little village in the western hills of japan.
- CLIMAX
- the lord was always cruel he says he has no use for old people in his village he said haughtily .
- FALLING ACTION
- the lord said that they are not useful for neither nor able to work for a living the lord then said there for anyone over seventy -one must be banished from the village and leave to go to the mountains and die.
- RESOLUTION
- the turning point of this story is when the farmer hide his mother because he did not want to leave his mother in the mountains to die like the lord said .
- after that the lord came to the little village and threat to rule over the village if the do not make the rope of ash and then he threat them again if the do not make a thread of silk he will try and rule of the village so the farmer went to his mother and told her what the lord and the mother said well that is not so hard and then the farmer did what his mother told him to do and he gave the thread of silk to the lord.
- finally after that the lord got his thread of silk he came back again and threat them one more time so the farmer went to his mother and she said this is not so hard and the farmer did what the mother said and gave it the lord and the lord ask who gave him the idea and he told the lord and the lord said how wise old people are so the do not have to go to the mountains and die when their over seventy -one.
