- Battle of Trafalgar of 1805 -a naval engagement fought by the British Royal Navy against the combined French and Spanish Navies during the Napoleonic Wars (1803–1815). This victory allowed Britain to become the world's largest sea power for 100 years; a loss for France.

- February 16, 1808- Napoleon Bonaparte invaded Spain, placing his brother Joseph Bonaparte on Spain's throne. A massive allied British, Portuguese, and Spanish take the French, effectively ending the Peninsular War by using tactics such as guerilla warfare campaign, or the hit and run tactic.

- 1809- The Battle of Wagram was a military engagement of the Napoleonic Wars that ended in a costly but decisive victory for Emperor Napoleon allied army against the Austrian. Austrians inspired by the Spanish to revolt against Napoleon. With 80,000 casualties, the two-day battle of Wagram was particularly bloody.
- Napoleon Returns
- 1812- Napoleon's Grand Army crossed the Neman River in an attempt to engage and defeat the Russian Army. Russian army used scorched-earth tactic, causing Napoleon to begin their 1,000 mile long retreat back to France; a loss for France.
- After Napoleon's major loss at the battle of Leipzig against Russia, Prussia, and Austria, Napoleon was sent to Elba; an island off a province in Italy. Napoleon was forced to renounce his throne in April 1814. As leaders in Vienna held peace conference, Napoleon escaped off the island and returned to Paris to begin his 100 days of triumph.
- However, Napoleon was soon defeated once again at the battle of Waterloo in Belgium and was sent to an island called St. Helena, only to die 5 years later at the age of 51.
